Cleaning an Automatic Pool Cover in Granite Bay

Cleaning an Automatic Pool Cover in Granite Bay

Investing in an automatic pool cover in Granite Bay for your swimming pool is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your family. It will do great things for your pool, the safety of your loved ones, and your pocketbook.

Automatic pool covers protect your pool from dirt and debris, keeping the water clean. This pool cover prevents your pool water from evaporating, keeping the water, heat, and chemicals in. Automatic pool covers prevent unsupervised access to the pool by young children, animals, and non-swimmers.

Not to mention that automatic pool covers bring convenience to pool owners. These pool covers are operated remotely by a key switch or push of a button – no need to manually remove the cover when you’re ready to use the pool and then put it back in the pool when it is not in use.

Automatic pool covers are worth the investment. But to enjoy the benefits of your pool cover and get the most return for your investment, you must take good care of it so that it will last for many years.

How to clean your automatic pool cover

Remove the visible debris from the cover regularly. One of the functions of a pool cover is to prevent leaves, branches, debris, and other things from getting into your pool. But because of this, you will have to remove the debris from the top of your cover. You can get rid of dried leaves using a leaf blower. Wet leaves should be left to dry first or gathered off the cover and into a bin. If you need to walk on the cover to reach the debris, it’s advisable to wear lightweight footwear to avoid potentially damaging the fabric.

1. Rinse the cover fabric with water.

Now that all the larger and more visible debris has been removed from the cover fabric rinse it off thoroughly with a garden hose. Rinse from the cover box end to the opposite end of the cover.

2. Remove all the leftover debris and water.

Use a soft-bristled brush or broom to remove the remaining debris or leftover dirt gently. Use a cover pump to remove the collected water from the surface. After removing all the debris and excess water, roll up the cover.

3. Clean and wash your cover with a mild detergent.

You may have removed the visible debris but you must still wash your cover fabric to remove the more stubborn dirt and stains. Use mild dishwashing soap and your pool brush to clean your pool cover. Position the pool cover pump back to the center of the cover. Use a garden hose to spray the soapy water towards the cover pump. Allow your pool cover to dry completely before using it again.

Cleaning your automatic pool covers in Granite Bay seems daunting at first. But by following a few steps, you can have your pool cover clean and working in no time.
